=Introduction=
This page describe the system architecture or Dragino MS12.

* #1: Bridge between 12-position screw terminal and 2x7 connector, the 12 position screw terminal provides 12 input/output to monitor or control the outside enviroment. They can be used to monitor the power, water, temperature or control motor, switch etc. 
 
* #2: ESD protection components are used to protect the MCUs from outside ESD surge. 

* #3: 2 x 7 connector connects the daugther board's MCU to the screw terminal. this connector provide 12 pin to the screw terminal and 2 GND. 

* #4: 2 x8 connector connects the MCU to the Dragino MS12 mother board. it provides below pins:
**[[GPIO|GPIOs]] (GPIO0~GPIO4): these GPIOs are connect directly to the AR2317 GPIO port. In the software design, GPIO0 ~GPIO3 are used to simulate a SPI interface. they can be used as normal GPIO as well. 
**UART interface  (2 pins: SIN/ SOUT)
**a pin to MS12's LED, the MCUs can control heartbeat LED even the CPU is not running. it is used to check if the MCUs board is abnormal. 
**COLD_RST_L, this pin connects to the AR2317 reset pin. Send a HIGH level to this pin will simply reboot the device. It provide a mechanism the motherboard from MCUs if there is software issue in motherboard. 
**3.3v power pin

**raw power pin which connect to the raw power from power adatper. 

* #5: Power Port. accept 9~15v power input

* #6: LEDs (WiFi, Heartbeat, LAN, SYS, PWR)

* #7: 8M Flash + 16M SDRAM

* #8: Programable RST

* #9: Daughter Board footprint

* #10: Ethernet Port
